You're forgetting one small thing. When these rules were first being enforced by Paul, most people were getting married at about the same time they were starting to get horny. They didn't have this period where they were sexually mature but not ready to start a family. |

I'm the one fixing the search. The search code is separate, actually. But the hard part is getting the data into the search database, which comes from the core code. And the hard part about that is trying to figure out the core code, which Spez didn't document very well. :) |

Because the caller pays the same no matter what kind of phone they are calling (land vs. cell) so someone has to pick up the difference in cost. |

Actually, I think a more accurate analogy would be if you pulled into a parking garage, and on the back, burried in their terms, it says "the garage now owns your car, but you can continue to use it for free. " Which is fine until you go to trade it in. :) |

I didn't read it -- my friends that work there told me. I don't know if the videos themselves are in the database or just the metadata, but I do know they made some serious enhancements to MySQL to get it to work for them. |

Shh.... don't tell anyone, but I'm pretty sure most of those enhancements came from YouTube, which uses MySQL as their primary storage backend. |

Adventure was the first Atari game to have an Easter Egg -- if you found the right spot in the maze, you could walk through the wall! I wish I could find that cartridge in my collection, but it seems to have gone missing a while back. |

It doesn't apply to securities markets because those are not tracking the value of a single individual. |

But the incentive is different. When someone is placing a wager on a sport, they wager on the team, not a single player. So if someone made a large bet on a team to loose, and then injured their star player, the team could still conceivably win. Also, to make enough money for it to be worthwhile, you'd have to place a very large wager right before the game, and the bookie or sports book would probably get suspicious. With a market in athletes based on an individual's worth, it is much more guaranteed that you will make money if you short them and they are injured. Also, you can hide the transactions much more easily, by buying lots of small short contracts, well in advance of the "injury" |
